What Nurtures Us
Nature + Nurture is Capital M’s first gathering in a DC community garden and the beginning of an exploration we hope to continue in gardens and nature spaces across the city.
As Capital M asks how DC shapes motherhood, we’re exploring the spaces within the city that give something back to mothers. Join us at Temperance Alley Garden to slow down, read, reflect and connect while considering a simple question: What are you nurturing right now, and what is nurturing you?

Now casting moms for Story Studio
We're inviting DC moms to be featured and filmed for Capital M. Our next production day is Saturday, October 10 in Ward 3. Mothers from every ward are welcome. Complete the form below and we'll reach out with available time slots for your on-camera conversation. Plan for about an hour on-site.
Not available on October 10th? That's okay, submit your story anyway! We're scheduling additional production days over the next few months, around the city, as well as other ways you can participate.

What Mama Made
A recipe is a story. A kitchen is a classroom. A meal is a memory.
Submit your recipe, share the story behind the dish, and join DC mothers in building a living archive of the kitchens that raised us. Your dish carries a story, and it may be featured in the Who Raised You? exhibition, April 2027.
